📢 Have you heard ? The European Parliament adopted the AI rulebook on June 14th of June. The AI rulebook is part of the AI Act, a European legislation about Artificial Intelligence (AI). The vote on the 14th of June modified the text and accepted or rejected amendments. More about the vote here 👇  https://lnkd.in/dqMdmxvH 🔑 Key points : 👉🏻 All amendments outside of those agreed upon at the committee level were rejected. 👉🏻 The definition of AI was changed and aligned with the one of the OECD : “An AI system is a machine-based system that is capable of influencing the environment by producing an output (predictions, recommendations or decisions) for a given set of objectives”. 👉🏻 Some AI uses are forbidden by the text and the vote extended the list of those prohibited such as predictive policing or internet-scrapped facial recognition databases. 👉🏻 AIs are divided into different categories according to the risk they represent, e.g. AIs operating in the health domain are considered as high risk. The higher tier, high-risk AI, imposes obligations on the AI providers such as managing risks, data governance, and technical documentation. These were made more prescriptive. New requirements were also introduced to conduct fundamental rights impact assessments and monitor environmental impact. 👉🏻 The GDPR remains the legal framework for personal data processing for AI purposes. 👉🏻 Inter institutional negotiations will now take place between the EU Parliament, the EU Council of Ministers and the European Commission. 🤖  @iliomad Health Data we help Life Sciences companies developing AI tools to navigate with applicable regulation 🤖  @iliomad Health Data we support Life Sciences companies in their data strategy by anticipating personal data reuse for AI development Want to know more ?  👉🏻 www.iliomad.fr Feel free to contact us  📨 contact@iliomad.fr #ai #data #artificialintelligence #strategy #lifesciences #gdpr #legal
